Bring Your Own Mail Server to Mojo Helpdesk
Organizations can choose whether to use the built-in Mojo mail server (default), or whether to use their own email server to send notifications to agents and users.
Where to find email server settings
To locate your email server settings:
- Click the waffle icon in the top navigation.
- Select
Account administration. - Navigate to
Channels > Email > Server configuration.
This is where admins choose whether to use the Mojo Mail Service or configure your own mail server.
Email server options
Mojo mail service (default)
- The help desk will receive and send emails via the Mojo mail service.
- This is the default setting.
Your own mail server
Admins can choose to route all emails through their own email server.
Mojo leverages:
- IMAP for receiving emails
- SMTP for sending emails
Configuration details (such as server addresses, ports, and authentication) will depend on your email provider.
Use Gmail mailbox to send and receive emails in Mojo.
Use Microsoft 365 to send and receive emails in Mojo.
Benefits of using your own mail server
- Data Security: Emails are routed through your organization’s standard email server setup, including:
- Anti-virus protection
- Anti-phishing protection
- Anti-spoofing measures
- Other existing security controls
- Improved Deliverability: If your organization has a strong sender reputation, that reputation extends to your ticket emails improving deliverability and reducing spam filtering issues.
- Compliance: Emails remain within your organization’s compliance framework, including:
- Logging
- Retention policies
- Auditability
- Other regulatory configurations
