Creating a new Asset is easily done from the Asset Management screen by clicking the "+ NEW ASSET" button.
Before creating a new asset, it is recommended to have asset types, locations and departments defined properly so the asset can be adequately located.
When creating a new asset, only the Asset Name is a mandatory field, and the Asset Tag is unique. To easily identify assets in the different forms, it is recommended to choose asset names that are descriptive enough so the end-user would recognize it right away.
For example, if Bob has a computer of brand Apple and model Laptop with the Tag 123456, it is recommended to define the asset name with the full combination of brand and model (Apple Laptop, in this case) so Bob can easily recognize his computer when opening a ticket so it will record the unique tag (123456) and the helpdesk agent can identify the asset precisely.
